Police officers of Chernihiv region received training on human trafficking

December 2 is the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery, which is why today, together with representatives of the Main Police Department of Ukraine in Chernihiv region, we conducted a training for representatives of juvenile prevention, the General Police Department, the Domestic Violence Response Department, police district officers, and community officers on the topic: “Identification of victims of gender-based violence, exploitation, and human trafficking to ensure the detection and provision of comprehensive assistance.”

Together with the leadership of the Main Police Department of Chernihiv region, we talked about the importance of responding to cases of gender-based violence, which includes both domestic violence and human trafficking. After all, the issues of human trafficking and violence gain momentum during the war.

We thank the Department of the Main Police Department in Chernihiv region for their cooperation and willingness to train their employees!

Much attention was also paid to establishing effective cooperation in communities and ensuring access to state-guaranteed services for victims.

The knowledge gained was consolidated on the stories and experience of each police representative. Therefore, algorithms for effective response to such cases in the interests of the victim, especially if it is a child, were developed.

The activity is carried out within the framework of the project “Combating Modern Forms of Human Trafficking in Chernihiv Region” with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
