Military personnel and vulnerable voters in Chernihiv region are being explained their electoral rights and voting rules

As part of an educational campaign, activists are conducting legal education events in social and medical institutions and military units of the Chernihiv region on the issues of the electoral rights of citizens, including those temporarily restricted in movement, and voting rules.

held legal education events in military units (Honcharivske and Desna), as well as in the Kozeletsk Geriatric Boarding House and the Chernihiv Oblast Psychoneurological Hospital, in order to inform military personnel and voters with limited mobility about their electoral rights and voting rules.

During their communication with military personnel and wards of social and medical institutions, they were explained the rights of voters, the mechanisms for exercising electoral rights, the provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Elections of People’s Deputies of Ukraine”, the rules of voting and the methods of restoring violated voters’ rights. The need for a preliminary check of voter lists was emphasized, as well as the possibility of changing the place of voting without changing the electoral address.

The attention of those present was focused on the responsibility established by law and the prohibition of monitoring the expression of the will of voters, photo and video recording in any way of voting results in a booth for secret voting and demonstration of voting results by a voter in the voting room. Certain facts of violations of election legislation were explained.

Voters also received information materials and contact information of organizations that can help in case of violations or difficulties with the exercise of electoral rights.


The event was organized by the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights as part of the implementation of the project “Every Vote Matters!” with the support of the Democracy Promotion Foundation of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
