Legal aid hotline for journalists and media

The All-Ukrainian Coalition for Legal Aid through the “Hotline” provides free legal aid to journalists, media representatives and bloggers as part of the project “Legal Community and Local Media: Partnership to Protect Freedom of Speech”.


Key issues that may require legal support:

– legal organization of professional activities of journalists, media and bloggers,

– issues of illegal pressure, restrictions by law enforcement agencies,

– work with personal data,

– liability for content published on blogs, social networks or YouTube,

– obstruction of journalistic activities, maintaining the confidentiality of sources of information,

– compliance with legislation on fake news, hate speech and calls for violence,

– rules for labeling advertising content, in particular on a blog or on YouTube,

– registration of media outlets,

– other aspects of daily work.
