ANNOUNCEMENT: XII All-Ukrainian School of Human Rights in Chernihiv

The All-Ukrainian School of Human Rights for Young Activists once again opens its doors to young Ukrainians who want to expand their knowledge of human rights and civic activism, learn about the best practices of human rights advocacy, communicate with activists from all over Ukraine, as well as international experts, and simply have fun in the company of like-minded people.

The school, organized by the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union together with the financial support of the USAID Human Rights in Action program, will be held this year

from August 8 to 15

at the Human Rights Educational House in Chernihiv.

We invite active youth

aged 18 to 28

who are interested in human rights issues and are ready to apply their knowledge in practice. Preference will be given to potential participants who have recommendations from public organizations, initiative groups, etc.

The training will be held in the format of interactive lectures from the best teachers, a large amount of practical work using non-standard methods, master classes, acquaintance with innovative practices, discussion groups and much more!

Over 8 days, participants will increase awareness of human rights and mechanisms for their protection, learn to notice human rights and their violations in everyday life, increase understanding of tolerance and discrimination, and learn to plan effective activities in the field of human rights.

For graduates of the School, a long-term program of personal and professional growth, resource support after graduation is provided.

The organizers provide accommodation, meals and travel to the School venue for participants, provided that they have travel documents and within the cost of travel by regular bus or reserved train car.

To participate in the selection for the All-Ukrainian School of Human Rights for Young Activists, you must no later than June 30:

I) fill out the online registration form at: (be sure to check the box next to the name of the School at the top of the page). Please note: to gain access to the application form, you must first register on the site and wait for confirmation of your candidacy to be registered at the email address you provided.

II) Record a short video message (from 1 to 3 minutes) on the topic “Three reasons why I should become a participant in the All-Ukrainian School of Human Rights for Young Activists 2016” and upload it to the YouTube video hosting or the ex.ua file sharing site, and copy the link to the “Additional task” column in the participant’s profile. The video title should be in the format Last name First name_ All-Ukrainian School of Human Rights for Young Activists.

To edit the video, you can use the “Movavi Video” or “VideoMONTAGE” program, or any other convenient program for you.

Please note that the candidacy is considered registered and the information accepted for participation in the competition if you receive confirmation within 3 days.

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. Contestants will be notified of the results on July 15, 2016.
