Reminder for voters with temporary mobility limitations

“Special” voters of Chernihiv region, who found themselves in social, legal and informational isolation, will be able to more effectively exercise and protect their rights in the 2014 snap elections of people’s deputies thanks to the relevant Memorandum prepared by the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights.

The 2014 snap elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine will be held taking into account changes in the relevant law regarding the technical and legal support of elections. Taking into account these and a number of other changes, many procedures and actions of voters will differ from previous campaigns. It is especially

October 2014 at special polling stations established in inpatient medical institutions, in penal institutions and pre-trial detention centers, as well as ordinary polling stations established in social and medical institutions. The electoral legislation establishes certain features for such special polling stations that voters need to know about in order to exercise their electoral rights.

, understand the difficult legal field and fully exercise the right to vote in the early elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine, the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights has prepared a number of practical tips and recommendations in the form of a special .

The memo reveals the general grounds for guaranteeing the electoral rights of citizens whose movement is temporarily restricted, compiling and updating voter lists, the voting procedure, protecting the secrecy of the expression of will and counteracting other violations, and the possibilities of protecting violated electoral rights.

The brochure is distributed among penitentiary, medical and social institutions of Chernihiv region, electronic versions of the Memo are posted on Internet resources, distributed through electronic mailing lists and social networks.
