Chernihiv joined “Europe without human trafficking!”

On October 18, public activists, representatives of relevant state institutions, law enforcement agencies and caring Chernihiv residents celebrated the European Day against Trafficking in Human Beings.

At 1:00 p.m., at the same time, blue and yellow gel balls were launched into the sky in many cities of Ukraine as a sign of solidarity on this day and joining efforts to prevent slavery.

Chernihiv residents took an active part in an information flash mob, during which volunteers distributed thematic information materials and provided consultations on safe travel abroad. Similar public events took place simultaneously in 17 regional centers of Ukraine as part of the national campaign of the All-Ukrainian Coalition for Combating Human Trafficking.

The aim of the campaign is to draw the attention of state institutions and the population to the problem of the existence of modern slavery and illegal exploitation.

October 18 is the European Day against Trafficking in Human Beings. The fact of its celebration is a reminder of the need to join efforts to combat this shameful phenomenon, effectively prosecute and punish traffickers, identify and provide comprehensive assistance to victims, conduct preventive and prophylactic work among risk groups, especially among young people.
