Legal support to the Parish community for recovery and assistance to vulnerable groups

Today, support is important not only for residents who have suffered the most from military aggression or have moved from occupied territories, but also for the communities themselves, because they also have many questions and problems that need to be solved in difficult conditions.

That is why on October 20, representatives of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights visited the Parafiivska territorial community and held a working meeting with the leadership and representatives of the community’s structural units.

During the meeting with representatives of the community leadership, they discussed the fact that in wartime, the most important issues are ensuring the basic needs of the most vulnerable categories of the population, which public organizations can currently provide. Lawyers of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights provide individual and group legal and psychological consultations for internally displaced persons, persons affected by any types of violence or human trafficking.

Separately, they also focused on the need for a multidisciplinary approach to providing comprehensive assistance to vulnerable residents, and for communities to carry out activities to create social housing.

They also spoke about measures aimed at raising awareness of safe migration and employment and strengthening the capacity of partner organizations and institutions working in the field of social and legal protection of the population.

The activity is taking place within the framework of the project “Reconstruction of Communities and Protection of the War-Affected Population in Chernihiv Oblast” with the support of the Press, Education, and Culture Section of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
