Volunteers were trained in “information hygiene” in community activities

On November 22, 2023, a training on the topic: “Information Security in Volunteer Activities” was held in Chernihiv for volunteers and public activists of the Chernihiv region.

As part of the event, participants developed critical thinking skills, learned how to search for evidence and arguments that confirm or refute information.

The training participants agreed that volunteers and activists who know how to analyze news are less likely to believe and spread disinformation, fakes and manipulative information, which contributes to the creation of an objective information environment.

The trainer of the event was a leading Chernihiv media expert, public activist and journalist Oleksandr Rys.

The training was held within the framework of the project “Volunteers – the driving force of civil society and support for war victims in times of crisis”, which is implemented by the NGO “Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights” in cooperation with the NGO “Active Society of Ukraine” with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
