HUMAN RIGHTS IN BELARUS

The Assembly needed to stop the practice of politically motivated people being dismissed from work, expelled from educational institutions, as well as “the practice of politically motivated unjustified enlistment of public activists for military service.”
The application contains a demand to cancel court decisions on the recognition of informational materials as extremist, including in relation to the magazine “ARCHE”, as well as to stop further abuse of the law on countering extremism.
In addition, the NGO assembly needed to review all illegal and legally unfounded decisions on refusal to register public associations.
The text of the statement was sent to the authorities and distributed in mass media.
Representatives of more than 300 public associations and initiatives from different regions of Belarus, as well as neighboring countries, including Ukraine, took part in the Assembly of NGOs. In the Assembly as well
accepted
participation of representatives of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights – Viktor Tarasov and Tukhan Ediev.
