Chernihiv border guards received training on human trafficking

In the last few years, we have not conducted training for border guards in the region. But the war, changes in work approaches, increased powers and risks, and the evacuation of the population have led to increased work by border guards in preventive work to combat human trafficking, in particular.
But the identification of victims remains an important area of work, despite the lack of checkpoints in the region. That is why the training “Identification of victims of human trafficking, exploitation and gender-based violence to enable victims to receive comprehensive assistance” was held on March 24.
During the training, participants discussed modern forms of human trafficking, changing trends in this crime, and the increase in the number of risk groups for falling into human trafficking.
In addition, during the training, together with law enforcement officers, they developed methods of cooperation to inform the population about the risks and the possibility of stopping the crime at the early stages, thus ensuring access to information and the opportunity to receive assistance to victims.
The activity is carried out within the framework of the project “Countering Modern Forms of Human Trafficking in Chernihiv Oblast” with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
