ELECTIONS 2007

Thanks to the resolution

the committee received a whole list of tools and means to protect the electoral rights of Chernihiv residents. In particular,

according to the aforementioned law, an official observer from a public organization has the right to be at polling stations during voting, to observe from any distance the actions of commission members, including during the issuance of ballots to voters and the counting of votes, without physically interfering with commission members; to take photos, films, audio and video recordings, without violating the secrecy of voting; to be present when ballots are issued to members of the precinct election commission, including for the organization of voting by voters at their place of residence, and during such voting; to be present at meetings of precinct and district election commissions of the relevant territorial election district, including during the counting of votes at any election precinct, the establishment of voting results in the territorial election district; to receive copies of protocols on the transfer of ballots, on the counting of votes and the establishment of voting results and other documents.

This does not limit the activities of the committee during early elections. Thus, a public reception center operates on the basis of the committee with the support of the American Bar Association (ABA/ROLI) for persons who consider their human rights and fundamental freedoms related to the electoral process to have been violated.
