ANNOUNCEMENT: Training “Community policing: police-community cooperation”

The Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights, with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation and with the assistance of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Chernihiv region, invites representatives of public organizations and public activists of Chernihiv region to participate in the training “Community policing: cooperation between the police and the community”.


The training will be held on September 8, 2016 in Chernihiv.

The trainer will be:


Ulyana Shadska

– Head of the Community Policing Program at the Expert Center for Human Rights (Kyiv)

During the training, community policing standards in Ukraine and abroad will be highlighted, as well as practical skills will be provided regarding:

– mechanisms for local community participation in ensuring public safety and shaping public priorities for law enforcement;

– formation and activities of local police commissions;

– successful practices of interaction between local governments, public organizations, and self-organization bodies of the population with the police;

– formation of the practice of accountability of police activities to territorial communities in the field;

The training will be conducted on examples of real successful actions of the public and administrative practice.
