A Remote Legal Aid Advisory Center was presented in Chernihiv

On February 7, 2014, the “Expert Opinion” discussion club hosted a presentation of the Remote Advisory Point for Providing Free Legal Aid in the Chernihiv Region.
The participants of the press conference informed the journalists, public figures and residents of the city present at the event about the start of the operation of the remote advisory point for providing legal advice in the Chernihiv region.
So, the participants of the event, namely: Nataliya Piddubna – head of the public reception of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights, Andriy Podorvan – director of the Department of Information Activities and Public Communications of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Volodymyr Bobruyko – deputy head of the Main Department of Justice in Chernihiv region, Ihor Puzan – head of the Department of Land Management and Land Protection of the Main Department of the State Land Agency in Chernihiv region, Yuriy Samoilenko – deputy director of the Chernihiv Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V.G. Korolenko, said that on January 23, 2014, the first meeting of the Remote Advisory Point was held in the premises of the Chernihiv Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V.G. Korolenko. And at the appointed time, 4 district and two city (Nizhyn and Pryluky) libraries were connected to the video link. In total, representatives of government agencies and lawyers provided 11 consultations related to the registration of ownership of a house or land plot, the transfer of ownership, the donation of a land plot, the collection of debts for utility services, the inclusion of insurance experience upon retirement, and others.
Chernihiv region is one of eight regions where the all-Ukrainian project has started. It involves the creation of remote consultation points in regional centers, which will operate on the basis of regional libraries. Residents of the districts will be able to receive free legal assistance using computers connected to the Internet in local libraries. It is local libraries that have the necessary equipment for video communication that have become access points to the consultation points.
Specialists from the Main Department of Justice in Chernihiv Oblast, the Main Department of the State Land Agency in Chernihiv Oblast, the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Chernihiv Oblast, and the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Chernihiv Oblast State Administration are also involved in such interactive communication, since most of the citizens’ appeals concern their competence.
According to the participants of the presentation, the Remote Advisory Point will be constantly operating on the basis of the Chernihiv Oblast Universal Scientific Library named after V.G. Korolenko every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, starting from January 23, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The next session of the Remote Advisory Point will be held on February 13, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
To receive free legal advice at the appointed time, residents of the Chernihiv region can contact local libraries in
Bakhmach, Varva, Gorodna, Kozeltsa, Novgorod-Siverskyi, Nizhyn, Pryluky Sosnytsia, Sribny, Shchors
and receive advice in video mode.
The Remote Advisory Point was created by the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights with the assistance of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration and the All-Ukrainian Coalition for the Provision of Legal Aid.
