ANNOUNCEMENT: Training “Development of Security Initiatives”

The Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights, with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation and with the assistance of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Chernihiv region, invites representatives of public organizations and public activists of Chernihiv region to participate in the training “Development of initiatives in the field of security”.


The training will be held on August 22, 2018 in Chernihiv.

The trainer will be:


Ulyana Shadska

– head of the program on strengthening community security through interaction between the population and the police (Community policing) of the Expert Center for Human Rights (Kyiv).

The training will cover the standards of “Community Policing” in Ukraine and abroad, as well as provide practical skills in:


– What is community security?


– What is the role of the community in shaping security policy in the place of residence?


– Powers and responsibilities of the police in interacting with the population (Community Policing);


– The role of local governments in creating conditions for security and law and order;


– Ukrainian and international experience of initiatives (projects) in the field of security;


– Development of joint projects (initiatives) of the community and the police to solve security problems (Community Policing).

The training will be conducted on examples of real successful actions of the public and administrative practice.
