ANNOUNCEMENT: Training for activists “Protection of the rights of refugees and asylum seekers”

The selection of participants for the training “Protection of the Rights of Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Ukraine” is announced for Ukrainian public activists and lawyers working with refugees and asylum seekers. The training is organized by the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights in cooperation with the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union with financial support from the Canadian Foundation for Local Initiatives.

The goal of the event is to strengthen the legal capacity of Ukrainian human rights defenders and public activists who work or plan to work with refugees and asylum seekers. In particular, the issues of international and national standards for the protection of the rights of refugees and asylum seekers, the regulatory framework and case law, the main problems in the implementation of the rights of migrants with an unregulated status, the advocacy work of human rights defenders in working with asylum seekers, etc. will be considered.

The training will take place

Educational House of Human Rights


– Chernihiv

(Kolychivka village, Chernihiv district, Chernihiv region).

The organizers provide accommodation and meals for the participants of the event. Also, the participants’ travel to the training venue and back is reimbursed within the cost of travel in a compartment train or “Intercity+” (2nd class) upon submission of documents confirming the cost of travel.
