ANTI-CRUEL BEHAVIOR

The mobile group included police officers, an inspector of the sector for organizing the activities of special police institutions of the VOOGP UGB of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Chernihiv region, members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Chernihiv region – Alla Lepekha and Viktor Tarasov.

The temporary detention center of the Chernihiv Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine was not accidentally the first object of the mobile group’s visit this year, as it is the largest in the region in terms of the number of detainees.

The members of the mobile group noted that the ITT had undergone current repairs,

drew the attention of the regional department management to the need to replace bed linen, the insufficient number of towels, means for maintaining cleanliness in the cells, and hygiene products.

At the time of the visit, 9 people were detained in the ITT of the Chernihiv Regional Administrative District. The members of the mobile group had the opportunity to talk to all the detainees. No complaints were received about the use of illegal methods of conducting an inquiry, or the carrying out of unauthorized actions (night interrogations, beatings).

The mobile group members paid particular attention to the fact that over the past year no one has been held in the detention room of the regional department due to the inconsistency of the conditions of detention with the requirements of international standards.

The mobile group members handed over new sets of bed linen to the management of the ITT of the Chernihiv Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Chernihiv region.
