Chernihiv educators improve mediation skills

On December 2, Chernihiv held a training session “Implementation of Mediation in Educational Institutions: Achievements and Prospects” for local educators.

The event was attended by social educators, practical psychologists, educational assistants, and methodologists of educational and methodological offices of schools in Chernihiv and the region, who had previously undergone training in basic mediation skills and began to implement the acquired knowledge in practice in their educational institutions.

spoke about the experience of creating School Understanding Services in educational institutions in the city of Chernihiv.

In turn, the methodologist of the Educational and Methodological Center of Psychological Service in the Education System of Chernihiv Region

Lyudmila Tretynnikova

emphasized the achievements and assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation of the mediation method in educational institutions of the region and the implementation of educational programs for resolving conflicts peacefully “I resolve conflicts and build peace around me”, “Resolving conflicts peacefully. Basic mediation skills”.

The participants had the opportunity to talk about successes and difficulties in implementing mediation in schools and perform practical exercises aimed at improving the skills of conducting the mediation procedure.

The event was organized by the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights within the framework of the implementation of the project “Safe Chernihiv – result-oriented cooperation” with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
