Chernihiv lawyers strengthen their capacity to protect the rights of the war-affected population

A training session was held in Chernihiv for representatives of the free legal aid system in the Chernihiv region on the topic “Protection of the rights of the population affected by the war”.
The trainers were
Natalia Kulikova
– head of programs of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights and representative of the law firm “Skylawyers”.
The aim of the event was to activate the problematic issues faced by lawyers and advocates, to provide appropriate information and tools to help victims and find solutions. A separate topic was the discussion of trends in addressing military issues.
Kateryna Kulinich
– lawyer and head of the law firm “Skylawyers” shared her own experience of defense in criminal proceedings. In general, the main task for the participants was to acquire practical skills and the ability to apply new knowledge in their activities.
The training was built on practical aspects that will help improve competence and raise awareness in the field of combating gender-based violence (GBV) and conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV), protecting the rights of military personnel and other issues related to the protection of victims.
During the event, the participants actively participated in joint discussions of the issues, analyzed cases of response and assistance using examples, and developed an effective referral mechanism.
