Chernihiv residents and displaced persons received grant assistance for the development of self-employment and micro-entrepreneurship

During July-August 2017, business plan defenses of participants of the project “Promoting the reconstruction and sustainable resolution of the problems of IDPs and conflict-affected populations in Ukraine” were held in Chernihiv, which is implemented with the financial support of the European Union.
After completing a series of trainings on self-employment and micro-entrepreneurship, internally displaced persons from Donetsk, Luhansk regions and Crimea, as well as representatives of local communities, had the opportunity to present their ideas for the implementation and development of their own businesses.
Thus, among the ideas were sewing/production and repair of clothing and footwear, production of leather and fur goods, provision of entertainment services, provision of cosmetic and beauty services, activities of development centers for children, production of jewelry, handmade, farming, beekeeping and much more.
Almost fifty business plans were supported by an expert commission, which included representatives of the International Organization for Migration Representative Office in Ukraine, advisor to the Ministry of Social Policy on IDPs in Chernihiv region

As a result, each successful business plan received grant assistance in the amount of up to 19,800 UAH. (direction “Self-employment”) or up to UAH 65,000 (direction “Micro-entrepreneurship”) for the purchase of equipment, professional equipment and furniture necessary for starting or expanding one’s own business.

In the Chernihiv region, the project “Promoting the reconstruction and sustainable resolution of the problems of IDPs and conflict-affected populations in Ukraine” is being implemented by the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Rights in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with financial support from the European Union.
