Chernihiv residents and displaced persons will receive grant assistance for the development of self-employment and professional orientation

On January 22 and 23, 2018, defenses of business plans and applications for training courses for participants of the project “Integration and stabilization support by providing livelihoods for internally displaced persons and the population affected by the conflict in Ukraine” were held in Chernihiv.
Before that, the participants had the opportunity to undergo a series of trainings on self-employment or developing their own business, as well as training for those who want to acquire a new profession, improve their qualifications and find a job.
During the defense, the project participants – internally displaced persons from Donetsk, Luhansk regions and Crimea and representatives of the local community – presented their ideas for the implementation and development of their own entrepreneurship and submitted their applications for courses, justifying the need for a change of profession and advanced training.
Among the business plans were presented ideas in the field of agriculture, furniture production and sales, clothing sewing, beauty services, educational services, event organization services, etc.
Among the applications for courses or training, the most relevant for participants are acquiring skills and knowledge in the field of salon business, coaching, photography and videography, accounting and auditing, mastering the 1C program, as well as taking driving courses.
As a result, each successful business plan for the development of self-employment or a proposal for professional orientation will receive grant assistance in the amount of up to 22,500 UAH. (direction “Self-employment”) or in the amount of up to 12,500 UAH. (direction “Professional Orientation”), respectively.
We would like to remind you that the goal of the project is to promote the integration and social adaptation of people who have moved to the Chernihiv region due to the annexation of Crimea and military operations in Eastern Ukraine, and other vulnerable members of the local community.
According to
Kateryna Dankova
, program manager of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights, today a similar program to support and develop business, self-employment and employment for displaced persons is very relevant in the Chernihiv region.
In Chernihiv Oblast, the project “Integration and Stabilization Support through Provision of Livelihoods to Internally Displaced Persons and the Population Affected by the Conflict in Ukraine” is being implemented by the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Rights in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with financial support from the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, acting through the Department for International Development (DFID).
