DocudaysUA Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Chernihiv

From November 29 to December 10, 2013, the 10th Docudays UA Traveling Human Rights Documentary Film Festival will visit the Chernihiv region. This year’s festival program includes the winning films of the 10th DocudaysUA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, which took place in Kyiv in March of this year, as well as prize-winning films from the most famous international documentary film festivals.

The traveling Docudays UA will visit 24 regions of Ukraine. The festival is non-political and non-commercial.

This year, a special focus is on protecting freedom of speech and peaceful assembly, access to information and the right to free expression, and combating domestic violence.

Festival films will be screened in cinemas, schools, universities, clubs, libraries, as well as in law enforcement agencies, penitentiary institutions, etc. Each screening will be accompanied by thematic discussions, debates, and various information events.

A separate page of the festival is a selection of films by young filmmakers in Ukraine:

– “Roma Dream” by Ukrainian director Roman Bondarchuk – 4 stories about residents of the camps of Transcarpathia who have achieved success;

– the film almanac “Beyond the Euro”, which tells about the events of 2012 related to the holding of the European Football Championship in Ukraine.

As part of the film festival, a traveling exhibition “Everyone has the right to know their rights” will operate in the Chernihiv region, guided by young people – high school students and students.

Film screenings in Chernihiv and the region will be held with the organizational and technical support of public and commercial organizations, government bodies and local self-government.
