From war to support: a project that changes the fate of women

The Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights has joined the project “Let’s Protect Her Together: Strengthening Communities, Saving Lives” – an initiative that has a very simple but vital goal: to ensure that women and girls in war-affected communities have access to help, support and a space where they are seen and heard.
The project operates in three regions: Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv. Experts do not just teach, they help them understand how to support, not burn out and be truly useful.
What we do together:
– we train Safe Spaces and Mobile Brigade teams on how to act in cases of gender-based violence, create referral mechanisms,
– we tell how to properly provide first aid,
– we train local trainers who can further share knowledge with their communities,
– we conduct mental health trainings.
What we want to change:
– so that communities have a better understanding of what GBV is and how to prevent it,
– so that victims know: help is nearby,
– so that every person who applies hears: “You are not alone. We are here. We will help.”
Support is not just about knowledge. It is about humanity and willingness to be there.
The project “PROTECT Her TOGETHER: Strengthening Communities, Saving Lives” is implemented in cooperation with the International Organization Corus International, the League of Modern Women, “Right to Health International” (HealthRight International) in Ukraine, Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights, Infection Control in Ukraine and thanks to the financial support of the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine.
