Information activities to combat gender-based violence in the Kozeletska and Kiptivska communities

With a monitoring visit, together with representatives of the Main Directorate of the National Social Service in Chernihiv region, they visited the Kozeletska and Kyptivska territorial communities, where they discussed the implementation of the policy in the field of combating gender-based violence in communities.

The meetings were attended by deputy heads of communities, representatives of structural units of the settlement and village council, village elders, and a community police officer.

Together with community representatives, it was determined that for the successful implementation of the policy in the field of combating gender-based violence, the following components should be implemented in the community:

A coordinator at the level of the Deputy Head of the community has been appointed, who bears personal responsibility together with the community elders;

An effective advisory and consultative body has been created – the Coordination Council on combating this phenomenon;

A person responsible for registering reports from among the executive bodies on family issues has been appointed;

A comprehensive/targeted program/action plan has been developed and approved;

A program for perpetrators has been approved and there is a mechanism for its implementation through training of one’s own employee or procurement of services;

A program for working with victims has been approved;

prevention work is being carried out.

We are grateful to the communities for their cooperation, understanding of the problem and desire to create effective algorithms for responding to and identifying victims of gender-based violence, and ensuring a comprehensive approach!
