Legal assistance to internally displaced persons and victims of war

Lawyers of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights provide free legal support to internally displaced persons and victims of war in the Chernihiv region.
As part of the activities of the
Legal Aid Center
, victims of war, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and victims are informed about their legal rights, legal remedies and the availability of legal services.
The main issues on which legal assistance is provided:
• social rights and guarantees of internally displaced persons and victims of war;
• the procedure for applying for monthly targeted assistance to IDPs;
• guarantees of receiving assistance to insured persons within the framework of the eSupport Program;
• establishing facts of legal significance (birth, death in the occupied territories), renewal of lost documents;
• recording losses and damages due to hostilities and receiving appropriate compensation;
• the procedure for submitting an information report on damaged and destroyed property;
• information on IDP assistance points and addresses of government agencies working with IDPs;
• other issues related to internal displacement and damage from hostilities in Ukraine.
