On May 25, the All-Ukrainian Day of Free Legal Aid was held in Chernihiv

On May 25, 2012, the All-Ukrainian Day of Free Legal Aid-2012 was held in all regions of Ukraine. The partners of the “All-Ukrainian Day of Free Legal Aid – 2012” were the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine, the Association of Advocates of Ukraine, the Union of Advocates of Ukraine, the Council of Advocates of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, the Ukrainian Legal Aid Fund and participants in the project “Law Country”.

The project was carried out with the aim of developing a culture of providing non-state legal aid in Ukraine. On this day, lawyers provided qualified legal aid to those who need it most – low-income individuals, public, charitable and other non-profit organizations, as well as small business entities.

In Chernihiv, the All-Ukrainian Day of Free Legal Aid was held on May 25 at the initiative of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights at the Center for Legal Information and Consultations. In particular, a special reception for citizens was held with the participation of well-known Chernihiv lawyers – Serhiy Vodolagin, Halyna Yakuba, Oleksandr Trofimov. Legal advice was provided, including on criminal cases.
