Opening of the photo project “Free.Me” – stories of women who suffered from domestic violence

Every year in Ukraine, from November 25 to December 10 inclusive, the information campaign “16 Days Against Violence” is held, which has been supported by the international community since 1991, and Chernihiv is no exception. The topic of violence against women, with which the information campaign begins, is today in the spotlight of the public around the world. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the global 16 Days campaign.

That is why, on November 25, 2021, the photo project “Free. Me” was presented at the Hollywood Shopping Center (main entrance, right near the escalators) – the stories of women who have suffered from domestic violence. The purpose of the event is to draw public attention to the problems of domestic violence, child abuse, combating human trafficking, gender-based violence, and ensuring equal rights for women and men. As well as to promote awareness among all segments of the population regarding the intolerance of violence.

But the most important goal is to give an impetus to women who have been suffering from violence for years, not to tolerate, not to remain silent, but to act!

Today, victims of domestic violence can contact:

• Chernihiv Regional Police – 102

• Chernihiv Regional Center for Social Services

• Chernihiv Public Committee for Human Rights Protection www.protection.org.ua

• Chernihiv/Nizhyn/Mensk Local Legal Aid Centers – 0 800 21 31 03

Thank you to our heroines who were not afraid to tell their stories and encouraged them to seek help by their example!

The photo exhibition will be held at the Hollywood Shopping Center from November 25 to December 6, 2021, so we invite you!!!!
