Police and Chernihiv Housing Association establish cooperation in the field of security

On November 22, a working meeting of the heads of the associations of co-owners of apartment buildings (OSBB) of Chernihiv and representatives of the local police was held. The purpose of this meeting is to establish a dialogue between the police and the OSBB, determine the priorities of cooperation and the main problems in the field of building security, and develop joint ways to solve them.
During the event, the representative of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights

presented the experience of cooperation between the police and the OSBB through the implementation of the Neighborhood Watch initiative. An approach that helps to increase the level of security of the house and the adjacent territory through the activity of the OSBB, as well as establishing cooperation between the police, local authorities and the residents of the house themselves.

emphasized the importance of cooperation between heads and residents of condominiums with patrol police officers during calls to “102” regarding committed offenses.
As part of the discussion, the participants discussed current issues of security in houses and yards. Among them: expanding the patrol area in some residential areas of the city, parking of cars and traffic violations that significantly impede the entry/exit of transport or movement on the sidewalk and require immediate police intervention, illegal sale of alcohol in houses. Police representatives explained how to properly respond to such situations.

The event was organized by the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights in cooperation with the Patrol Police Department of Chernihiv region within the framework of the implementation of the project “Safe Chernihiv – result-oriented cooperation” with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
