PROTECTION OF MIGRANTS’ RIGHTS

The seminar was attended by representatives of the International Organization for Migration, UNHCR, the Danish Refugee Council, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the central and regional apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Assistant Minister of Internal Affairs for Human Rights in Chernihiv region, representatives of the Luhansk and Chernihiv District Administrative Courts, the Kyiv and Supreme Administrative Courts, the Department of the Migration Service in Chernihiv region, the KhIAS, and the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights.

The seminar participants visited the premises of the station, got acquainted with the conditions in which foreigners and stateless persons are held, and had the opportunity to communicate with the persons held there.

During the seminar-training, legal issues in working with illegal migrants and aspects of interagency cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Service, the State Committee for National Religions, the Supreme Court of Ukraine, administrative courts and public organizations in working with illegal migrants were considered, in particular regarding the procedure for the detention and detention of foreigners, filing an application for refugee status, forced return, etc.
