Public activists of Chernihiv region are invited to a training on combating corruption in the field of land relations

The Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights invites representatives of public organizations and public activists of the Chernihiv region to participate in the training “Mechanisms of public participation in combating corruption in the field of land relations”. The training will be held on March 4, 2014 in Chernihiv.

The trainers will be:

Ivan Sikora

– director of the Open Society Foundation, former consultant to the Council of Europe, ex-advisor to the Minister of Economy of Ukraine, author of the methodology of the “Anti-Corruption Policy Index”, coordinator of the Coalition “FOR HONEST PUBLIC SERVICE”;

Igor Puzan

– Head of the Department of Land Management and Land Protection of the Main Department of the State Land Agency in Chernihiv Region;

Oleksandr Solomakha

– Head of the Department of Information Support and Public Relations of the Chernihiv Regional Council.

During the training, topics will be covered and practical skills will be provided regarding:

– public control and the role of the public in countering schemes for shadowing the land market owned by territorial communities;

– national and international standards of anti-corruption policy in the field of land relations;

– mechanisms and tools for conducting public anti-corruption investigations in the procedures for allocating and selling land plots;

– regulation of land relations in the light of the new land legislation; – main aspects of legal responsibility for preventing and combating corruption in the context of land relations;

– problems of practical implementation of information legislation on public access to public information about the lands of territorial communities. The training will be conducted on examples of real successful actions of the public and specific practices (case studies).

The participants of the event will be provided with:

meals, reimbursement of travel expenses and handouts.
