RIGHTS OF REFUGEES AND MIGRANTS

The lawyer offered cooperation, which would consist in our handing over the illegal immigrants to him, and he, in turn, promised to expel them from the country in the near future, having issued all the necessary documents and bought plane tickets.

But the main surprise was Mr. Viktor’s offer: for each Hindu, he promised 50 USD! Kupin tactfully but persistently asked us to hurry up with the decision and in case of a positive answer promised the next day to “drive a bus and take all the Hindus out of the territory of the Chernihiv region”.

Next, the lawyer went to the border post “Girsk”, where he sought an audience with the Indian citizens detained the day before.

Since the border guards had been warned about the strange lawyer, he was denied communication

and

with the detainees. After that, he went to the address where other Hindus were staying, who were waiting for the court’s decision on obtaining refugee status. This accommodation was found and provided by the Committee together with a representative of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine

Mohammad Tarik

. Arriving at the accommodation, the strange stranger began to force the illegal migrants to go with him with threats. But the latter did not agree, after which the lawyer promised to kill them. When, at our request, the lawyer of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights

Oleksandr Trofimov

arrived at the scene of the events, Viktor Ivanovich offered him money too.

Again

having been refused, he got into his expensive car and disappeared.

In a fairly long period of our work in the field of illegal migration, we are for the first time encountering such “patriotism” and unhealthy interest in the expulsion of foreigners. Who Viktor Kupin, a Kyiv lawyer with Transcarpathian license plates, really is, and whether he really has such pure intentions, we are unlikely to find out.

Oh

it is clear

that

the lawyer is only a link in a long and organized chain.

But what is really interesting is how this unknown guest knows all the facts about the number of illegal immigrants detained in the Chernihiv region and the place of their detention?

Who gave him the coordinates of our employees? How did he become aware of confidential information about the temporary residence of Indian citizens at an address known only to the Committee and law enforcement agencies?

Having some experience in this activity, it is not difficult for us to assume what global problem we are facing. We have a number of questions that will be difficult to find answers to. As is known, conjectures are not a valid argument in resolving issues. But we can

and

confidently state that gathering facts to establish the truth is only a matter of time.
