Specialists and community activists of Pryluchchyna strengthen their capacity to protect and support socially vulnerable groups

On March 27, a training was held for specialists and activists of communities of Pryluky district of Chernihiv region for providers of social, administrative and legal services, NGO activists, specialists of mobile brigades and social service centers on the protection of war victims and vulnerable groups in local communities.

The social sphere has always been not in the first place, unfortunately for the deputies of local councils. The Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights always tries to raise issues that are important for society and help establish cooperation in this direction.

Since the issues of domestic and gender-based violence, human trafficking are not a priority for the community leadership and deputies, together with representatives of social structures, the employment center, public organizations and education, Pryluky discussed the creation of an effective mechanism for identifying victims, redirecting and providing assistance in the communities of the district.

During the training, the concepts of violence, gender-based violence and human trafficking were examined in detail. The algorithms for providing assistance and the work of the national interaction mechanism were also discussed.

In addition to the skills of identifying victims, the participants of the training for non-specialized service providers also discussed the importance of preventive work with vulnerable groups, as it provides target groups with access to useful information and helps people develop skills for safe behavior in the process of finding a job.

The activity is carried out within the framework of the project “Supporting the Restoration of Communities and Protection of Vulnerable Population Groups Affected by the War in Chernihiv Oblast” with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
