Almost 2 thousand viewers attended screenings organized by the NGO MART and the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights as part of the 15th Docudays UA Traveling Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in the Chernihiv region. The screenings began on November 26 and ended on December 11.

The screenings took place in the city’s comprehensive schools and lyceums, cultural and art centers and libraries, colleges and institutes, cafes and even in the Educational House of Human Rights, involving a total of 29 locations throughout the city.

This year, Chernihiv residents had the opportunity to watch 7 films from the festival program. Among them are “When I Hear Birds Singing”, “Mustard in the Gardens”, “Distant Barking of Dogs”, “There Are No Overt Manifestations”, “A Woman in Captivity”, “Silent War” and “My Happy Difficult Family”.

In addition to the film screenings and discussions after their viewings, the participants had the opportunity to take part in mini-lectures on the topic of equality of human rights and non-discrimination. Similar lectures on the topic of “Human Rights” were held in the youth library and Chernihiv Higher Vocational School No. 9.

And young visitors to branch No. 2 of the O.P. Dovzhenko Central City Library had the opportunity to communicate in the format of a “living book” with human rights activist Kateryna Kulinich. The “Living Book” project gave children the opportunity to learn more about the profession of “human rights activist” and hear the fictional stories of people, whose rights Kateryna defended in court.
