The International Organization for Migration will provide financial assistance to vulnerable displaced people in Chernihiv region

IOM is extending its program of support to the most vulnerable categories of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine. The project “Unconditional Cash Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ukraine”, funded by the Government of Germany, will cover Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Donetsk and Luhansk (Government-controlled territories) regions in 2016.

Cash assistance will be provided to IDPs who have recently moved to the above regions from among the following vulnerable categories:

•Persons aged 70 and over;

•Persons with the first and second disability groups who have lost their ability to work, with supporting documents;

•Families with disabled children under 18 years of age;

•Families with three or more children;

•Families where children aged 0-18 are raised by one parent.

The project plans to cover 4,350 people (335 people per region) during the first round of payments, which will last in May-July 2016. Unconditional cash assistance will be paid in the amount of UAH 1,980 per person for a period of three months (UAH 660 per person per month).
