Training volunteers and activists on anti-corruption and legal issues of charitable activities

On November 4, 2023, a training on the topic: “Legal aspects of volunteering” was held in Chernihiv for volunteers and public activists of the Chernihiv region.

As part of the event, participants learned about the current legislative standards for implementing volunteer and charitable activities in Ukraine, the features of the organizational and legal support of contractual relations between a volunteer and an NGO, the specifics of the regulatory framework for volunteering, and considered problematic aspects of the implementation of the rights and obligations of volunteers and NGOs, combating unfair practices, and the causes of conflict situations with law enforcement officers.

The trainer of the event was a leading Chernihiv anti-corruption expert, public activist, and journalist Oleksandr Rys.

The training was held within the framework of the project “Volunteers – the driving force of civil society and support for war victims in times of crisis”, which is implemented by the NGO “Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights” in cooperation with the NGO “Active Society of Ukraine” with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
