Trainings on starting your own business were held in Chernihiv for displaced persons and residents of the Chernihiv region

On May 29-30 and June 26-27, 2017, trainings on self-employment and business development were held in Chernihiv. The participants were internally displaced persons from Donetsk, Luhansk regions and Crimea living in Chernihiv region, as well as representatives of the local community. Some of the participants already had experience in implementing a business idea, while others intended to start their own business.

During the training, the participants gained new knowledge on the organizational, legal and financial aspects of private entrepreneurship, learned about the basics of marketing and promoting goods and services on the market, and learned how to draw up business plans to implement their own ideas.

After completing the training, the participants must present a brief description of their own idea. Those who successfully defend their business plans will be provided with grant assistance in the amount of up to 650 Euros for the purchase of equipment, professional equipment and furniture, which is necessary for starting or expanding their own business.

As noted by the event trainer, self-development coach,

Igor Andriychenko

: “The participants, as people with different life experiences, complemented each other well. The first part of the trainings was devoted to the motivational part and identifying the true goals of the participants and available resources. Most were convinced of the correct choice of their business idea direction. And some realized that they had a lot of life resources that they had not previously paid attention to. In the second part, the participants worked with a plan for the practical implementation of their business idea and filling out the business plan. Here, in working groups, there was a great opportunity to check the realism of their ideas, receiving constructive feedback from the group.”

“In addition to the opportunity to participate in training and acquire new knowledge and skills to start their own business, all participants can receive grant assistance to develop their own business idea. Today, such assistance for internally displaced persons and vulnerable categories of the population is still relevant in the Chernihiv region,” emphasizes the head of programs of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights

The events are organized by the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) within the framework of the project “Promoting the reconstruction and sustainable resolution of the problems of IDPs and the conflict-affected population in Ukraine” with the financial support of the European Union.
