Patron the Dog congratulated Chernihiv children on the emergence of an innovative safety class

The first large-scale safety class for children was opened in Chernihiv region right in one of the units of the State Emergency Service. Activists call it an innovative educational space. And the dog Patron himself came to greet the children at the first lesson.

This is a joint project of the public and the State Emergency Service with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program and financial support from the EU within the framework of the project “UA4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine”.

Nataliya Kulikova, program manager of the Chernihiv Public Committee for the Protection of Human Rights: Many organizations are taking care to reach more children, to talk to them about safety rules. We are a border region and in a combat zone. Therefore, it is important to explain these issues to the State Emergency Service and the police. This is a joint initiative of the public and the State Emergency Service. This will make it possible to scale up and create such spaces for children.

Nina Lutsenko, assistant head of the State Emergency Service in Chernihiv region:

For rescuers, this event is significant because it is a step towards creating a safe space for children. This is a place where they are taught how to behave correctly in different situations.

The class is divided into zones: mine safety, fire safety, road traffic zone and rules of conduct on the water. The safety class is equipped with all the necessary equipment and technical means that will allow students to practically master key skills that can be crucial in the event of any emergency situations.
